The Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM), founded in 1951, belongs to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and with more than 300 people is the largest dedicated to marine research and the only one with the “Severo Ochoa” seal of excellence. Under the motto “Ocean Science for a Healthy Planet,” the ICM conducts frontier research and carries out both knowledge and technology transfer on topics related to ocean and climate interactions, conservation and sustainable use of marine life and ecosystems, and impact mitigation of natural and anthropogenic hazards.
ICM-CSIC will participate mainly in WP4. It will be involved in epigenetic conditioning and will identify epigenetic markers with diagnostic capacity to be integrated to selective breeding programs to improve stress and disease management. In Task 4.1 will be involved in epigenetic conditioning and analysis, whereas in task 4.2 will be involved in epigenetic marker identification and protocol development.
